Short Description

The Austrian Core Facility for Scientific Core Analysis provides state-of-the-art laboratory infrastructure for logging and scanning of cores obtained by drilling and coring. The facility is currently equipped with three core scanners: a Geotek Multi-Sensor Core Logger, a Smartcube Camera Image Scanner and a COX Analytics ITRAX XRF core scanner. In 2025 we will start operating the new self-built Hyperspectral Imaging core scanner. All scanners make use of non-destructive analysis techniques to provide high-resolution optical, physical-property and element chemical data for scientific core analysis.
