Short Description

A dry room with a state-of-the-art research pilot line for pouch cell manufacturing (up to 10 Ah) enables prototyping of lithium ion cells close to industrial production. Industrially relevant research and test activities can thus be carried out at reduced cost, minimizing capital investment risks for industrial partners.

A separate prototype line exists for solid-state and semi-solid-state batteries. The laboratory offers support in the development of new production and assembly methods for generation 4 pouch cells. The focus on multilayer cells enables a direct transfer of the developed concepts to state-of-the-art production facilities to reduce development time and risk when introducing new materials into the production process. The laboratory offers the possibility to study slurries for electrolytes, electrode composites and the optimal testing of cells.
