Open for Collaboration

Short Description

The inFURNER is an electrically heated high-temperature vacuum furnace for solids that enables rapid cooling using protective gas. It is suitable for small to medium sample volumes. Metallic and other inorganic materials can be heat treated in complex temperature profiles to specifically adjust their physical, chemical and mechanical properties.

Research Services

The research infrastructure is ‘open for collaboration’. Commercial collaborations are not possible.

Methods & Expertise for Research Infrastructure

The ‘inFURNER’ high-vacuum furnace can be used to heat treat metals and alloys in order to specifically adjust their mechanical and physical properties. The high vacuum also allows reactive materials to be used. The inFURNER also offers the option of rapid cooling using gas. Heat treatment of other inorganic materials is also possible.
