Short Description
The Sartorius Incucyte is a live-cell imaging and analysis system that allows researchers to monitor cellular behavior in real time within a standard tissue culture incubator. It automates time-lapse microscopy, enabling continuous imaging of living cells without disturbing the culture conditions. The system is compatible with various plate formats (e.g., 96-, 384-well), making it ideal for high-throughput and long-term experiments. Key capabilities include quantifying cell proliferation, apoptosis, cytotoxicity, and migration, as well as monitoring morphological changes.
The Incucyte supports both phase-contrast and fluorescent imaging within GFP and mCherry channels, for analyzing specific markers or reporters. It can track single-cell dynamics or population-level responses over time, offering detailed kinetic data. Applications span cancer research, immunology, virology, neuroscience, and drug screening. For example, it enables real-time tracking of immune cell killing, replication of reporter viruses, or neurite outgrowth. The accompanying software provides intuitive tools for image analysis, segmentation, and quantitative reporting.
