Research Services

The university library provides support through advice on Open Access publication options, copyright issues regarding secondary publications, open licenses, and funding for Open Access publications. Additionally, the university library assists with the digitization and provision of digital collections of the University of Salzburg.

Methods & Expertise for Research Infrastructure

The repository includes a publication server for the open access publication of documents, a journal server for hosting open access journals, and a platform for digital collections of the University Library and the departments of the University of Salzburg.

All hosted documents are automatically assigned a persistent identifier (URN or DOI) to ensure permanent citation capability and long-term access.

The visibility and discoverability of the publications are ensured through interfaces to library and consortium catalogs using standardized, librarian-verified metadata. The data is indexed in general search engines and Google Scholar, and the retrieval of metadata by other databases occurs via the OAI-PMH interface. The documents are indexed in OpenAIRE.

ePLUS is operated by the Austrian Library Association OBVSG using the Visual Library software (semantics GmbH).
