Short Description

The SLM125 is a 3D metal printer that can be used to create precise structures from medical-grade titanium. It is suitable for manufacturing medical implants but also for rapid prototyping/manufacturing of medical devices and components. The maximum size of the parts that can be produced is 125×125×75 mm.

Methods & Expertise for Research Infrastructure

The "Additive Manufacturing for Medical Research" working group is available as a basis for the implementation and planning of 3D prints in titanium and consists of medical technicians and specialists in additive manufacturing and mechanics. For special questions, colleagues from almost all areas of physics, technics and medicine can be involved in the interdisciplinary work at the Center for Medical Physics and Biomedical Engineering and within the Medical University of Vienna.
