Short Description

The lab aims to improve STEAM education and its research in Austria by developing educational technology based innovations in teacher education. The team aims to innovate with both existing and emerging technologies such as 3D printing and scanning, AR and VR, robotics, hybrid learning, etc., conduct research and use these innovations and research results in both education and training in Austria together with a variety of partners in Linz, across the country and internationally.

Research Services

Our research lab offers a versatile space for a wide range of educational research activities, available upon coordination. We are open to any innovative ideas that can contribute to advancing knowledge in education and educational technology. The lab is equipped with state-of-the-art technology, ensuring that researchers can access high-quality video and audio recording services, both on-site and via mobile setups. These recordings are securely stored in a private cloud network, providing researchers with easy access to data while maintaining strict data privacy and security standards.

In addition to our current offerings—such as workshops for teachers and schools, collaboration with partner schools for research implementation, and resources for 3D printing, physical computing, electronics, educational games, AR/VR, and eye-tracking—we are continually expanding our technological capabilities. We are eager to explore and incorporate new technologies that can further enhance our research services and support the evolving needs of the educational research community.

Methods & Expertise for Research Infrastructure

Our research infrastructure is distinguished by a wide range of methods and expertise specifically designed to support innovative educational research. The lab is equipped with state-of-the-art technology and specialized tools that enable us to execute complex research projects efficiently and precisely. From high-quality video and audio recording systems to mobile recording equipment and advanced eye-tracking technology, we provide researchers with all the necessary resources to collect detailed and meaningful data.

Our expertise extends beyond technical implementation to include methodological consulting and support for the development and execution of research projects. We collaborate closely with partner institutions and offer tailored workshops and assistance with implementing research projects in schools. A key focus of our work is ensuring data integrity and security, safeguarding the confidentiality of research outcomes. Our ongoing expansion of infrastructure and commitment to integrating new technologies highlight our dedication to creating a top-tier research environment that meets the demands of modern educational research.
