Short Description

The VetFarm is located 50km from Vienna and consists of 4 farms: Kremesberg (dairy cattle), Medau (pigs, sheep), Haildhof (horses, birds) and Rehgras (cattle rearing). With a farm size of 263 ha and a wide range of animal housing and research facilities, laboratory, accommodation, lecture halls, high hygiene standards, we offer the best conditions for today's requirements of veterinary research in the livestock sector.

As the type of service that can be provided depends on the type of study to be conducted, the species, the number of individuals required and other factors, we request that you contact us personally to clarify your needs and options.

Methods & Expertise for Research Infrastructure

The VetFarm offers the opportunity to work on studies and projects on a wide range of issues.
For example, studies are carried out in the field of birth monitoring or feeding strategies for dairy cows or pigs. Influences of climatic stress can be investigated as well as infectious diseases or the well-being of farm animals and the influence of the human-animal relationship.
The VetFarm is currently home to a herd of dairy cows, pigs, horses and sheeps.

Terms of Use

The services of the VetFarm are available to external users. The specific terms of use are dependent on the research methodology and will be thoroughly discussed in the project meeting.
