Short Description
The focus of the Institute of Polymer Processing and Digital Transformation is on process modelling and digitalization.
The focus is on generating industrial added value, which is ensured through close cooperation with our partners. We distinguish ourselves in particular through the globally unique method of hybrid process modelling developed at the IPPD and its coupling with a digitalised research infrastructure from laboratory to pilot scale.
The interlinking of these two aspects enables comprehensive model validation, model generation and optimisation using real-time process data and thus makes a fundamental contribution to the digital transformation of the plastics processing industry.
