Short Description

Spectral range 3600 - 50 cm^-1 (Stokes-Shift). Interferometry mit gold-coated optics and permanent RockSolid-Adjustment. Broadband quartz-beamsplitter. Excitation with Nd:YAG-laser at 1064nm remote control. Ln_2-cooled Ge-Detektor. Ultralow signal detection with minimum Noise ratio. Overnight measurements due to isolated cooling with long lasting fluid.

Investigation of the Raman-Modes of different materials (liquids and solids) at 1064 nm.

Methods & Expertise for Research Infrastructure

Molecular interactions with electromagnetic radiation in the IR range are investigated using Fourier-transform spectroscopy and Raman-scattering. Information concerning molecular vibrations and electronic states can be obtained.
