Short Description

We have three ÄKTA Systems (ÄKTA PURE / ÄKTA Go / ÄKTA START) that can be booked by users after appropriate training, so that purifications can be performed by users in our lab. Additional purification equipment, such as a microfluidizer, sonicator and centrifuges, can also be booked after training.

Methods & Expertise for Research Infrastructure

FPLC is a liquid chromatography method that enables the separation of proteins based on their size, charge, hydrophobicity or affinity to specific ligands. Depending on the desired separation mode, different columns with specific polymers are used. FPLC can be used for both analytical and preparative purposes. It is suitable for small-scale purification in research laboratories as well as for large-scale processing in industry. Compared to other methods, an FPLC system enables rapid purification processes under relatively mild conditions, which is particularly advantageous for sensitive biomolecules. Modern FPLC systems are designed for high reproducibility and automation and deliver consistent results from run to run, which is essential for reliable analytical results.
