Short Description

Seahorse XF Analyzers measure oxygen consumption rate (OCR) and extracellular acidification rate (ECAR) of live cells in a multi-well plate, interrogating key cellular functions such as mitochondrial respiration and glycolysis. XF Analyzers perform compound addition and mixing, label-free analytical detection, and automatic measurement of OCR and ECAR in real time.

Methods & Expertise for Research Infrastructure

The Seahorse XF Analyzer is used in scientific approaches aimed at quantifying changes in metabolism that accompany alterations in the physiology or functional state of a cell. Examples are cell transformation, exit of stem cells from quiescence, or activation of cells such as macrophages or lymphocytes during immune responses.
