Short Description

Test rig (platform with servohydraulic force cylinders) to determine the static strength and fatigue strength of structural components and materials

Contact Person

Univ.-Prof. DI Dr. Martin Schagerl

Research Services

Test rig (platform with servohydraulic force cylinders) to determine the static strength and fatigue strength of structural components and materials

Methods & Expertise for Research Infrastructure

Design and realization of test rigs according to given specifications (e.g. load spectrum of the structural component during operation). Development of test specifications. Performance of structural tests (static, cyclic and spectrum loading) to determine the structural strength (static strength and fatigue strength) of structural components and lightweight materials. Determination of damage tolerance (damage initiation and progressive damage) under realistic loading conditions. Focus on application in lightweight design (aircraft structures, automotive structures, wind turbine structures, etc.). Use of classical measurement methods (e.g. strain measurement with strain gauges, deformation measurement with 3D digital image correlation systems, non-destructive damage analysis with ultrasonic devices)
