Short Description

The Bio-Rad ZE5 Cell Analyzer is designed for high-throughput and multiparameter analysis, meaning it can quickly process many samples and measure many features of cells at the same time. The system can use up to five lasers and around 30 detection parameters, allowing researchers to study different cell types and biological markers in detail.

Lasers 5: 355nm, 405nm, 488nm, 561nm, 640nm
Detectors: 27 colors, one side scatter, two forward scatters
Sample input: rack of 40x 5ml tubes, rack of 24x 1.5ml tubes, and 96/384/custom well plates
Temperature control: 4-25°C
Software: Everest
Small particle detector: 405nm FSC

Methods & Expertise for Research Infrastructure

The BioRad ZE5 Cell Analyzer enables high-resolution, multiparametric analysis of cells using advanced flow cytometry. With up to five lasers and numerous detection channels, complex cell populations can be simultaneously characterized based on multiple surface and intracellular markers. Applied methods include immunophenotyping, functional cell analyses (e.g., cytokine production, cell cycle analysis, apoptosis assays), as well as high-throughput screening in microtiter plate formats.

Terms of Use

The BioRad ZE5 cytometer is available to both internal and external users upon request and is subject to applicable service fees. Users must submit a project proposal and comply with the facility’s usage guidelines. For further information, please contact us at facs@maxperutzlabs.ac.at.
