Methods & Expertise for Research Infrastructure
Photochemical film is extremely fragile, and the technical equipment required to view it is becoming scarce and increasingly unreliable. Thanks to its collection, designed for exhibition and research, the Austrian Film Museum has many years of experience in carefully transforming these films into digital form, ensuring their long-term preservation and accessibility for all types and forms of research. The MWA Spinner S2 enables high-resolution digitisation with integrated dust removal at a comparatively high speed compared to previously used devices, without compromising on the careful handling of the material.
