University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences Vienna (BOKU)

Wien

Open for Collaboration

Short Description

Scanning electron microscope (SEM) with Volumescope. It is possible to make ultrathin sections of a sample embedded in resin with the integrated microtome, image the sections automatically, and visualize them in 3D.

Contact Person

Univ.Prof. Dr. Erik Reimhult

Research Services

Currently research services are not offered to external users.

Methods & Expertise for Research Infrastructure

High resolution scanning electron microscopy. In addition, it is possible to make ultrathin sections of resin embedded samples, image the sections, and visualize the data set in 3D. This technique is termed Serial Block Face Imaging (SBFI).
