Short Description

The capillary electrophoresis instrument hyphenated to an ion-mobilty quadrupole time-of-flight mass spectrometer includes a high-performance separation system that is coupled to a high-resolution mass spectrometer, which additionally allows the determination of collision-cross-sections. It is used for the characterization of complex biological samples.

Research Services

Separation of small polar molecules with subsequent determination of the collision cross section and the accurate mass.

Methods & Expertise for Research Infrastructure

The capillary electrophoresis instrument together with the mass spectrometric detector is the heart-piece of an EU (Interreg) funded laboratory for metabolomics and medicinical chemistry. It is employed in these research fields together with the Biology Center of the Czech Academy of Sciences (Budejovice).
