Kurzbeschreibung
Die aks Wissenschaft ist die zentrale Forschungseinheit der aks gesundheit GmbH und stellt eine umfassende, qualitätsgesicherte epidemiologische Forschungsinfrastruktur für Vorarlberg bereit. Sie umfasst das Vorarlberger Krebsregister, die aks Gesundheitsdatenbank, wissenschaftliche Evaluationen sowie partizipative Forschungsprojekte. Diese Infrastruktur dient als Grundlage für evidenzbasierte Gesundheitsplanung, Public-Health-Forschung und Präventionsmaßnahmen.
Das Vorarlberger Krebsregister dokumentiert seit den 1970er Jahren alle Krebserkrankungen der Vorarlberger Bevölkerung gemäß internationalen Standards (IARC). Durch kontinuierliche Erfassung, Kodierung und Datenabgleiche entstehen valide Inzidenz-, Mortalitäts- und Überlebensdaten für Forschung, Berichterstattung und Versorgung.
Die aks Gesundheitsdatenbank umfasst Langzeitdaten aus Vorsorgeprogrammen, Krebsdaten sowie Schul- und Kindergartenuntersuchungen. Laufende Qualitätssicherung, Record-Linkage und Aktualisierung ermöglichen detaillierte Auswertungen zu Gesundheitsverläufen, Risikofaktoren und regionalen Unterschieden.
Ein wesentlicher Bestandteil der Forschungsinfrastruktur ist die interne Nutzung der Daten und Evaluationen, um Programme der Gesundheitsförderung und Prävention innerhalb der aks gesundheit GmbH kontinuierlich weiterzuentwickeln. Die Ergebnisse fließen direkt in Konzeptentwicklungen, Qualitätsprozesse und neue Maßnahmen ein. Gleichzeitig unterstützen sie Gemeinden, Schulen, soziale Einrichtungen und andere Partnerorganisationen bei der Gestaltung gesundheitsförderlicher Lebenswelten.
Damit liefert die aks Wissenschaft eine fundierte Grundlage nicht nur für gesundheitspolitische Entscheidungen, sondern für die gesamte Bevölkerung und die Institutionen im Land.

Methoden & Expertise zur Forschungsinfrastruktur
Die Forschungsinfrastruktur der aks Wissenschaft verbindet das Vorarlberger Krebsregister, die umfangreiche Gesundheitsdatenbank und etablierte Evaluationsstrukturen zu einer leistungsfähigen Grundlage für epidemiologische und Public-Health-Forschung. Zentrale Methoden umfassen Epidemiologie, Biostatistik, Record Linkage, Gesundheitsdatenanalyse sowie Survival- und Trendanalysen nach internationalen Qualitätsstandards (IARC, WHO). Ergänzend kommen qualitative Methoden, Mixed-Methods-Designs und partizipative Forschungsansätze wie Photovoice und Participatory Action Research zum Einsatz.
Die Expertise der betreuenden Fachpersonen umfasst Epidemiologie, Medizin, Public Health, Statistik und qualitative Sozialforschung. Die Infrastruktur wird sowohl für interne Qualitäts- und Konzeptentwicklung der Gesundheitsförderung als auch für kooperative Forschungsprojekte mit externen Partnerorganisationen genutzt. Dadurch entsteht ein breites Einsatzspektrum für datenbasierte Analysen, evidenzorientierte Entscheidungsfindung und interdisziplinäre Zusammenarbeit.
