The Uncle from Unchained Labs combines fluorescence spectroscopy with static and dynamic light scattering (SLS, DLS) over a temperature range from 15 °C to 95 °C.

Methods & Expertise for Research Infrastructure

The Uncle supports both intrinsic protein fluorescence measurements and dye-based assays with excitation at 266 nm and 473 nm and full fluorescence spectrum readout from 247–721 nm. Up to 48 samples can be analysed simultaneously using a minimal sample volume of approximately 9 µL. The system enables efficient screening of multiple samples with high reproducibility to monitor (thermal) unfolding, aggregation onset, and particle size in a single experiment. The Uncle therefore provides detailed information on protein stability and aggregation behaviour, e.g. for optimizing formulation conditions.
