Short Description

eLabFTW is free, open-source software for digital laboratory notebooks. This solution is available at Graz University of Technology as an institutional electronic laboratory notebook. eLabFTW can be accessed via all common web browsers and end devices. eLabFTW is operated with PHP/MySQL in Docker containers and offers researchers the opportunity to access their research documentation anywhere and anytime, share it with colleagues, and/or edit it collaboratively.

The electronic laboratory notebook of Graz University of Technology is free for all members of Graz University of Technology and is primarily used for FAIR documentation of research work, teaching activities, and other administrative tasks. External institutions and individuals can get access to the system upon request as part of collaborations. If you're interested, just get in touch with the contact person listed.

Methods & Expertise for Research Infrastructure

The infrastructure is based on the free and open source electronic lab notebook, hosted at TU Graz, and maintained by the research data management (RDM) team. In general, the RDM team provides support to all researchers at TU Graz, in regard to data stewardship, for organizing research data adequately, storing and documenting data appropriately with metadata, using innovative tools for cooperative work and documentation, providing easy access to research data, how to publish research data, compliance to funder mandates, including data management plans.
