Laser Scanner Leica RTC 360

Short Description

The Leica RTC360 is a portable, highly automated and intuitively operated terrestrial 3D laser scanner for the geometric documentation of new and existing buildings as well as of components and installations.

The instrument works on the time-of-flight principle and captures its surroundings from a single set-up position within a field of view of 360° horizontally and 300° vertically, at a range of 0.5 to 130 m. The measurement rate is up to 2 million points per second; a coloured point cloud is available in less than two minutes. The 3D point accuracy is 1.9 mm at 10 m and 5.3 mm at 40 m, the angular accuracy 18″ and the range accuracy 1.0 mm + 10 ppm. A dual-axis compensator compensates for tilt. An integrated three-camera system (36 MP) produces calibrated spherical HDR images for colourising the point clouds.

Registration of multiple set-up positions is target-free: the Visual Inertial System (VIS) tracks the movement of the scanner between set-ups and pre-registers the scans already in the field. Moving objects can be removed automatically. The scanner weighs less than 5 kg, is IP54-rated against dust and splash water and is powered by exchangeable Li-ion batteries. Data acquisition and field registration are carried out with the Cyclone FIELD 360 app, while post-processing, registration and evaluation are performed in Cyclone REGISTER 360 PLUS.

Typical applications include as-is surveys and as-built documentation of buildings, industrial plants and infrastructure, scan-to-BIM workflows, actual-to-nominal comparisons, volume and quantity determination, deformation and condition documentation, the recording of cultural heritage objects, as well as terrain and construction site surveys. The point clouds can be exported to common CAD, BIM and evaluation software.

The scanner can be operated as a standalone unit, although a high-performance smartphone or tablet is recommended.
